back in the saddle again

Well, almost anyway. I'm planning on returning to Panache in May, but the other gigs I take will be a bit more sporadic. I've got a little one to look after now...for those of you who don't already konw, Madison Ann Hart was born on March 21. She was 6 lbs 12 oz and 19" long. At her 2 week checkup she had gained 2 lbs and 2 inches, and now, 4 weeks later, I'm sure she's a little bit bigger yet. The girl can eat and she's really filling out. We're enjoying her so much!

We're even working on getting her jazz appreciation chops up to par. She attended her first live gig already (went to hear Daddy play at Panache) and we're slowly introducing her to some instruments, as you can see! If anyone's interested in seeing other pics here are a few:

everything's a-ok

Anyone keep up with the All About Jazz website? Here's an interesting article called "What the F*#! Happened to Black Music?" by Kenny Drew. Definitely worth a read...it's humorous but oh so very true...enjoy!

Glad to see you're "back in the saddle" again. Yes, someone sent me that Kenny Drew article as well-very funny, but makes a good point. I have of late been working on a 3-voice "Rap Fugue":
'my landlord be trippin', got to get me a job; got to pay the man fo' the po po's come and take me away.' (then this is repeated in another voice, etc).
Just kidding.
