JazzWriter

I'm a freelance writer by day and a working jazz musician by night, and often I am able to combine my two lines of work. This blog is for posting gigs & various rants about music and life in general.

i'm baaaack

Woah woah woah, it's been waaay too long since my last post.

Do you notice a pattern here? I seem to have started every entry the same way over the last year or so.

Life sometimes takes a turn and priorities get shifted around. In this case, my Jazzwriter blog took a backseat to life in general. Also, there haven't been a ton of gigs (except Old Faithful, Panache) and we haven't gotten out to see many performances in Chicago or elsewhere, so there just hasn't been that much to say. In 2007, however, I hope to turn that around. That said, also will try to post more regularly around here. So...hope to see ya round the jazz table in the near future!

Hi!
I play saxophone too, and it seems that jazz gigs are getting scarce all over... Here, in France, things are getting difficult.
I agree that Jazz is at its best in small jazz clubs. We still have a few around here...
Nice to read about a sax player, anyway! I like traveling around your country, and might show in Chicago again one of these days...
If you feel like it pay a visit to my blog www.bloguez.com/thujazz
Take care!
